To recognize the freedoms of the air (The Freedom of the Air) in the field of air transport and discern the impact of liberalization on airline operations as well as the levels of post-liberalisation competition in aviation today.
Understand and distinguish the functions of governmental organizations, such as the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the European Convention for the Safety of Air Traffic (EUROCONTROL), the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC), the JAA (Joint Aviation Authorities) .
To understand and distinguish the functions of non-governmental organizations, such as I.A.T.A. (InternationalAirTransportAssociation), AEA (AssociationofEuropeanAirlines), ERA(EuropeanRegionsAirlinesAssociation).
Familiarize yourself with the operation of airline alliances, recognize strategic alliance and merger trends and the general institutional framework and recognize their advantages and disadvantages, both from the perspective of the operator (airline) and from the perspective of tourists.
