Villages
Pelion is widely known for its 24 picturesque villages, where many characteristic buildings of the unique Pelion traditional architecture can be found. The visitor has the chance to walk through the cobbled streets, admire a variety of sights of historical importance (traditional mansions, Byzantine churches, museums, monuments) and natural beauty (centuries-old trees, natural springs with drinking water), buy local products and taste traditional specialities. Among the most popular destinations are Portaria, Makrinitsa, Milies, Zagora and Tsagkarada. However, each village is one of its kind, having its own, unique identity and is worth a visit.
Forests
In Pelion there is intense vegetation, which consists mainly of beeches, oaks, plane trees and chestnuts, creating the ideal conditions for a series of activities that will impress the visitor. Beaches

Some of them have sand while others have pebbles. In some beaches, the waters are relatively calm while in others large waves are encountered. In each case, the experience is unique. On the west side (Pagasetic gulf), some of the beaches where one can swim are located in Afissos, Koropi (Boufa) and Kala Nera. In case the eastern side (Aegean sea) is preferred, Mylopotamos, Agios Ioannis, Horefto, Agioi Saranta, Xinovrisi and Damouchari ("Mamma Mia" movie filming location) are just some of the many options available to the traveller.
